Since 1996, David Barnard has been in full-time specialist Endodontic practice in Castle Hill in northwestern Sydney after graduating with a MDSc in Endodontics from Melbourne University. He has been a part-time Lecturer in Endodontics at Sydney University and is currently an Adjunct Associate Professor at both Charles Stuart and La Trobe Universities. Since 1999 he has been a regular presenter at the NSW ADA Centre for Professional Development. In 2022 he graduated with a Masters Degree in Laser Dentistry from the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart of Rome studying under Professor Giovanni Olivi, a leading researcher in laser activated irrigation. He is a Founding Fellow of the International Academy of Endodontics, and a Fellow of the International College of Dentists.
