Dr John McNamaraDr John McNamara graduated from the University of Queensland, Bachelor of Dental Science in 1978. After 3 years in private general practice he commenced postgraduate training at the University of Adelaide, completing his Master of Dental Surgery in Endodontics in 1984. |

He subsequently commenced Endodontic practice in Brisbane. He was made an Associate Professor at the University of Queensland in 2005, where he was Programme Director for the graduate training programme in Endodontics. Dr McNamara has been Secretary and President of the Australian Society of Endodontology Queensland Branch, and Federal Secretary of the ASE and Australian and New Zealand Academy of Endodontists. His main interests are in Diagnosis and Treatment Planning, Instrumentation, Dental Trauma, Education, and Risk Management. Since 2002 he has been the Chairman of the Australian Advisory Panel for Dental Protection Ltd – a mutual indemnity company, which provides indemnity cover for dentists worldwide. |
