Registration is open for the Trans-Tasman Endodontic Conference to be held at the Hotel Grand Chancellor, Christchurch, New Zealand from the 4-6 November 2010.

Dr Stanley F. Malamed from University of Southern California School of Dentistry in Los Angeles, California, USA
  • Professor of Anesthesia & Medicine
  • Recipient of the Heidebrink Award [1996] from the American Dental Society of
  • Anesthesiology and the Horace Wells Award from the International Federation of Dental Anesthesia Societies, 1997 (IFDAS)
  • Author of three widely used textbooks, published by CV Mosby:
    - Handbook of Medical Emergencies in the Dental Office (6th edition 2007)
    - Handbook of Local Anesthesia (5th edition 2004)
    - Sedation - a guide to patient management (5th edition 2010)

Dr Malamed will be presenting the following two lectures at the Conference:

  • Endodontics and pain: The dilemma of the 'hot' mandibular molar
  • Emergency medicine: Ten minutes to save a life


Dr Asgeir Sigurdsson from University College London Eastman Dental Institute in London, England, UK
  • Graduate Director of the University of North Carolina, USA Endodontic specialty program from 1997 to 2004.
  • Adjunctive Associate Professor at University of North Carolina, USA
  • Past President of the International Association of Dental Traumatology
  • Writer and Co-writer of 12 chapters on endodontics, pain perception and dental trauma.
Dr Sigurdsson will be presenting the following lectures two at the Conference:
  • An update on dental trauma: Emergency management and long term follow up
  • Facial pain: Diagnosis and treatment
These keynote speakers will be complemented by an excellent array of national and international speakers.

VENUE

The Conference will be held at the Hotel Grand Chancellor. Hotel Grand Chancellor is conveniently located in the CBD, only 10 kilometres from the Christchurch International Airport. It is within strolling distance to key attractions including Cathedral Square, Arts Centre, Museum, Botanical Gardens, Avon River, Cafes, Bars and Restaurants. The Hotel is the tallest building in Christchurch, and with 26 floors all rooms are quiet and spacious with sweeping views over the city and Canterbury plains to the distant snow capped Southern Alps.
